Flip-Over Concepts: Make a Book Evaluator Application
The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) is seeking field test evaluators for Flip-Over Concepts: Make a Book. This book-building kit allows teachers, parents, and students to create and design their own flip-over books using provided sturdy covers in blue and yellow colors, black or white panels, and custom-cut binding rings. Self-chosen visual pictures, tactile/collage materials, braille or print letters/words, etc., can be applied to the panels and book covers to make fun flip-over books for repeated use to practice various concepts—matching, sequencing, patterning, letter recognition, and much more! The self-constructed books can be tailored to young and older students, as well as students who are braille readers, dual readers, print readers, and students with cortical visual impairment (CVI). Possibilities are limited only by one’s own imagination and creativity. If you are interested in evaluating the Flip-Over Concepts Make a Book, please complete the form online by September 30, 2025. Field testing begins in mid-October and extends through end of December 2025. IMPORTANT: Field evaluators will be required to submit photos of their constructed books; they may keep the constructed books for future use. Field-test sites will be selected based on geographic location, number of students available to test with, and the type of instructional setting. The number of available field-test prototypes is limited. You may contact Karen Poppe at [email protected], 502-899-2322 or 800-223-1839, ext. 322 with related questions.
