# Analytics

> A tour of the Analytics board: what each tab shows, how the shared filters work, and how the numbers are counted.

Analytics is the reporting hub for your account, bringing recruitment, panel, usage, and licensing data together in one place. Admins can open it from **Analytics** in the sidebar.

## The six tabs

Analytics is organized into six tabs, each answering a different question about the same underlying activity.

| Tab | What it answers |
| --------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overview** | How is research trending overall? |
| **Research** | How much did we recruit and publish, and how fast? |
| **Panel** | How healthy and reachable is our panel? |
| **Consumption** | Who's reading the research we produce? |
| **People** | Who's using the account, and how? |
| **Reports** | Give me the raw data to export. |

## Why it matters

**One filter bar for everything.** Set a date range and a set of filters once, and they carry across every tab you visit.

**Panel and recruitment side by side.** Recruitment speed, panel size, and invitation performance live on the same board instead of separate reports.

**Usage you can act on.** See which teams are publishing studies, which research gets read, and how licenses are being used, without stitching together multiple exports.

**Everything is exportable.** The Reports tab turns the underlying data into CSVs you can pull into your own tools.

## Filtering the board

Every tab shares the same date range. The default range is the trailing six months, grouped by month. You can switch grouping to week on any tab that charts activity over time; grouping doesn't apply to Overview, since its cards are single numbers for the period.

Five additional filters, **Team**, **Person**, **Role**, **Method**, and **Status**, apply across the board, but each tab only shows the filters its own reports use:

| Tab | Filters shown |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Overview, Research | Whichever filters each card supports |
| Panel | None. Panel reports look at your whole panel, not a slice of it |
| Consumption | Team |
| People | Team, Role |
| Reports | None |

If you set a filter on one tab and switch to a tab that doesn't use it, the filter stays active (you'll see the chip, and can clear it) even though the tab you're on doesn't apply it.

**Role** options are Admin, Creator, and Observer. **Method** options are Interview, Survey, Online task, Unmoderated test, and Panel.

**Status** defaults to live studies: Pending, Active, Paused, Closed, and Archived. **Deleted** studies and bookings are left out unless you select Deleted yourself.

## Overview

Your account's headline numbers for the selected period, plus three tiles that link out to their own tabs.

| Metric | What it shows |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Studies closed | Studies closed in the period. A study can be closed without anyone being invited, so this isn't the same as fulfilled. |
| Average time to recruit | The average time from a study going live to being fully booked, for studies that reached their participant limit. |
| Interviews booked | Interviews booked in the period, counted on the date of the first booking. A later cancellation or reschedule doesn't remove it. |
| Session hours | Scheduled session time completed in the period, including surveys and unmoderated tests with a duration. |
| Tests completed | Unmoderated tests completed in the period, counted on the day each one finished. |
| Invitation conversion | Of the people invited in the period, the share who went on to apply, book, and complete. |
| Panel utilization | Links to Panel. The share of your panel invited to a study in the period. |
| Research views | Links to Consumption. Unique first-time views of research artifacts. |
| Seats and utilization | Links to People. Every member and outstanding invitation, and the share of assigned seats active in the last 30 days. |

## Research

Research breaks recruitment down over time and by team. Participant counts and timings here include participants recruited through an external panel.

**Usage** covers Studies published, Interviews booked, Studies closed, and Participations completed, each shown over time and, for studies and participations, split by the team that owns the study. A study with no team counts as **Workspace**.

**Recruitment duration** covers Time to schedule first interview (days from going live to the first booking, averaged across studies that went live in the period), Average time to recruit, and Average time to schedule (days from going live to each individual booking, averaged across every booking).

## Panel

Panel numbers count your own panel only; participants recruited through an external panel are left out. The invitation funnel is the exception: it counts everyone invited, panel or not.

**Panel health** shows how your panel splits across contactability statuses right now: eligible, opted in, and the reasons someone might be excluded (over-invited, over-participated, unresponsive, no-showed, opted out, unsubscribed). **Panel size** is the total candidates in your panel at the end of each month. **Contactable panel** is the share of your panel that could actually be approached at the end of each month. **Panel net change** is how much the panel grew or shrank over each month. The **invitation funnel** shows what became of the invitations sent in the period, across four stages: invited, applied, booked, completed. Every stage measures the same invitations, however long they took to move.

For the full detail on how panel snapshots work and what each of these counts, see [Panel & Participation Analytics](/support/support/account-administration/panel-participation-analytics).

## Consumption

Consumption tracks who's reading your research. Guests are views by someone not signed in, viewing a publicly shared link.

Research views by role and by type show unique first-time views; opening the same piece again doesn't count a second time. Most viewed research lists the top 50 artifacts by unique viewers.

## People

People shows every member and outstanding invitation on your account: role, teams, invitation, join, and login dates, last activity, studies created, and license type, alongside seat utilization, the share of assigned seats active in the last 30 days.

## Reports

Reports turns your account's data into exportable CSVs rather than charts: Study data, Interview attendance, Invitation conversion, Account activity, Seat changes, AI chat usage, Custom attributes usage, and Screener questions usage. Use these when you need the underlying rows for your own analysis rather than a chart on the board.

## If a number looks different from the Reporting page

A few numbers moved when Analytics replaced the Reporting page. None of it is missing data, it's more consistent counting.

**Deleted studies and bookings are left out by default.** The Reporting page counted everything an account ever had, including anything later deleted. Analytics leaves deleted studies and bookings out unless you tick **Deleted** in the Status filter.

**Standalone incentives aren't counted as studies.** Paying an incentive outside of any study creates a hidden placeholder to carry the payment. The Reporting page counted those placeholders as published and closed studies; Analytics doesn't.

**A rescheduled interview stays in the month it was first booked.** The Reporting page moved a rebooked interview to the month it was rebooked. Analytics keeps it in the month it was originally scheduled, so a few interviews may land in a different month than you remember.

**Recruitment timing is measured from every booking.** Average time to recruit and Time to schedule first interview are calculated from each booking directly. Trust the Analytics figures over the Reporting page's.

## Troubleshooting

| Issue | What's happening | How to fix |
| ---------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| A total looks lower than I remember from Reporting | Deleted studies and bookings, and standalone-incentive placeholder studies, are excluded by default | Tick **Deleted** in the Status filter to include deleted items, and see [If a number looks different from the Reporting page](#if-a-number-looks-different-from-the-reporting-page) above |
| A panel chart is empty for early months | Panel numbers come from a nightly snapshot, so history only goes back as far as the first snapshot, and net change needs two months of snapshots before it can show a value | This resolves itself as more snapshots accumulate; no action needed |
| The date range doesn't match what I had on Reporting | Analytics defaults to the first of the month six months ago, so every bar is a whole month; Reporting defaulted to six months ago today | Set the date range to match manually if you're comparing the two pages side by side |
