# Highlights

> Capture short video snippets from interview transcripts, add tags, and share links to key moments with your team or external stakeholders.

Highlights are short, shareable snippets pulled from your interview videos and transcripts. They capture pivotal moments, a quote, a reaction, a moment of confusion, from research sessions, whether the session was recorded through an integration like Zoom or uploaded manually.

Highlights help teams identify the most valuable moments in an interview, streamline how teammates review qualitative feedback, and expand access to research insights across departments.

## Create a Highlight

You can create highlights two ways.

**Manually, from the Interview Room:**

1. Open the Interview Room for a completed session.
2. Highlight a section of the transcript with an important moment.
3. Click **Highlight** on the pop-up menu.
4. Your highlight is created automatically with a matching video clip.
5. From here you can play the clip, add tags, copy the link, or open it in a new page.

**Automatically, with AI.** Great Question can suggest highlights on its own once a session's transcript is ready, along with a suggested title and tags, you don't have to select the text yourself. This is controlled by an account-level AI setting, so an Admin can turn it off if your team prefers to highlight manually only.

  Use tags consistently to make it easier to search and group highlights later in your Repository.

## Share a Highlight

Click **Copy link** on the highlight and paste it wherever your team works, Slack, Notion, and so on. Anyone with access to your workspace can view the clip instantly. Pasting a highlight link into a supported tool like Slack shows a rich preview with the video, not just a bare link.

  To let people outside your workspace view a highlight, change its share settings to **Public**.

## Use cases

  Keep highlights short and focused (10–30 seconds) for easier consumption, tag them consistently for discovery during synthesis, add them to Reels or Insights to showcase patterns, and encourage teammates to browse highlights regularly.

## Troubleshooting

| Can't copy the link                     | Browser or clipboard restrictions are blocking it.                                                                                                 | Use Ctrl/Cmd + C, or open the highlight in a new tab and copy the URL manually.                                                      |
| A highlight disappeared                 | Its source recording was deleted — either manually or through a data retention rule — which also removes the highlights and clips created from it. | This is expected. If you need to preserve a highlight long-term, add it to a Reel or Insight before the source recording is removed. |
| Highlight missing from the Repository   | It wasn't tagged or added to a Reel or Insight.                                                                                                    | Search by date, creator, or title, then add tags or link it to a Reel.                                                               |
