# AI Moderation

> An AI runs the research session for you, automated and available around the clock. Available today for interviews, with prototype testing in beta.

AI moderation lets an AI run a research session with your participants instead of a live moderator, automated and available around the clock. You set up and recruit for the study in Great Question as usual; the AI handles the actual moderation, and results come straight back to your study for analysis.

## What Is AI Moderation?

Great Question offers AI moderation in two formats, both built on the same idea: an AI moderator engages participants directly, in place of a live person.

| Format                                                                                | Status                        | What it does                                                                                                      |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [**AI Moderated Interviews**](/support/support/studies/ai-moderated-interviews) | Available on Enterprise plans | An AI interviewer asks your questions and runs the whole conversation, like a moderated interview, but automated. |
| [**AI Moderated Prototype Testing**](/support/support/studies/ai-moderated-prototype-testing) | Beta | An AI moderator asks participants questions live while they work through a Figma prototype task. |

<Note>
  **Before you start:** AI Moderated Interviews is available to **Enterprise** plans only. AI Moderated Prototype Testing is currently in **beta** with limited availability. Contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more about either.
</Note>

## Why It Matters

**Scale without scheduling.** Run far more sessions than you could moderate live, at any hour, without coordinating calendars.

**A single, seamless flow for participants.** Recruitment, screening, consent, and incentives all work the way they do for any other study — the AI only replaces the live moderator, not the rest of the experience.

**Results land where you'd expect.** Recordings and transcripts show up on the participant's record, ready for your usual tagging and analysis.

## Choosing a Format

If you're running a **conversational interview** (discovery, exploratory, concept feedback) with no visual task involved, use [**AI Moderated Interviews**](/support/support/studies/ai-moderated-interviews).

If you're running a **usability task against a Figma prototype** and want an AI moderator to ask participants about their experience as they go, look at [**AI Moderated Prototype Testing**](/support/support/studies/ai-moderated-prototype-testing) — keeping in mind it's still in beta.

If you don't need an AI moderator asking questions at all, plain [**Prototype Testing**](/support/support/studies/unmoderated-prototype-tests) (unmoderated, task metrics only) is available on all plans that include it.
